SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

How to submit your Video/Film to us

To submit your Film/Video and participate in Videoart.net's Video Art & Experimental Film Festival follow these simple steps:

  1. Register your video to the festival through our online submission form. Submissions may be updated or edited any time before the final deadline, August 31, 2012.
  2. Embed your video in the online submission form for panel review. (Embedding your video is not a requirement, but it does speed up our reviewing process of the work)
  3. For Multiple Submissions, please log out and register for a new account using the same email address but different Password. Embed the additional submission in the new account.
  4. Pay the Festival Fee via the PayPal button in your submission profile.
    Earlybird Deadline: April 25, 2012 (postmarked/uploaded) $25 Early fee
Standard Deadline: Extended to August 31, 2012 (postmarked/uploaded) $35 Standard fee
    Late Deadline: September 15, 2012 (postmarked/uploaded) $45 Late fee
  5. Send two (2) DVD copies of your video and a printed submission form for panel review to Videoart.net, P.O. Box 572, New York, NY 10025.
    OR
Upload your video file by selecting the "Upload video" link in your Festival profile and upload your video directly for panel review. Please include the Title of the work in the "Subject" field and Your Name in the "Message" box. Maximum file size can be up to 2 GB, but we highly recommend files be kept under 1 GB. You are not required to mail in a printed submission form if you upload a file.

NOTE: Embedding a video is extremely useful for preliminary online viewing, but is not a requirement if your video is not available online. In order for the panel to review your work at a high enough quality for Festival consideration, we ask that you send in DVDs or UPLOAD a video file via the UPLOAD VIDEO option in your Submission Menu. Whichever you prefer.

All submitted videos are for festival panel review purposes only. We do not share your work with anyone.

CATEGORIES
For the purposes of the festival, films/videos should be no longer than 30 minutes long.
Media must be labeled with the title, runtime, director(s), and contact information.

The Video Art & Experimental Film Festival encourages the submission of many different genres of work, such as Documentary, Narrative, Street Art, themes of Sexuality, themes of Environmental-Awareness, and/or themes of Politics. Though by its nature, video art and experimental film possess elusive definitions, the Festival welcomes any and all artists and filmmakers that have crafted projects with an experimental edge.
